Peaceful HR was born from the passion of Susan Paul, an Employment Litigation Lawyer with 30 years years of management and legal experience, who also served as an Employment Judge and Mediator, to support managers and businesses to create organisations where people love going to work.
She leads a team of like minded professionals at Peaceful HR and in the NHS who are committed to ensuring that all working relationships are conducted in a way that are simultaneously respectful, compassionate and effective for the success of the whole organisation.
Susan believes that
"Our lives are too long to spend time working for an organisation that you are not happy working for, or in an industry that you are not passionate about.
I am fortunate to work in the NHS. It is an amazing organisation with so much potential. We have gone through a hard time in recent years, and the NHS is suffering, but I never doubt why I work for the NHS or my other clients for that matter. I get to help make the world a better place, one relationship at a time.
It starts with the creating a clear structure for your team to work within, and supporting the development of the professional knowledge interpersonal skills your team need to thrive. Layer all this with the ability to acknowledge and hold your partners and teams accountable for both the inevitable failures and the successes of your organisations. and you will be successful. It is not easy at times. But creating a culture of no blame or judgment and focusing on creating workable solutions that benefit everyone, not just a select few, is key.
Sometimes that means making hard choices. Life is not all sunshine and roses. Sometimes, you need to clear away the weeds, but it creates an amazing pathway to success. Work hard. Live life. Enjoy the journey."
30 years as a litigator, 5 of which was spent as an Employment Judge, and 28 years working as a Manager in local government and then the NHS General Practice has given her a unique perspective on what works and what does not work around the support, development, management and accountability of staff and leaders within organisations.
As part of her commitment to creating systems and organisations that create environments where people love working, thrive and empower each other to achieve great things, the Peaceful HR team have created a variety of ways to fulfil on their mission to create peace in the workplace one relationship at a time.
